Message from His Worship The Mayor

Uniting Communities Towards a Brighter City

Mayor of Port of Spain
Murchinson Brown
Mayor of
Port of Spain

It is with a great sense of both humility and pride that I welcome the opportunity to extend greetings to all of our citizens as we celebrate the Eighty Seventh Anniversary of the Restoration of Municipal Rights to the Citizens of Port of Spain and its Elevation to City Status.

The theme for this year's celebration "The Way Forward" gives us all as Councillors, Administrators, Business People, Community Groups and Citizens, the opportunity to work together in improving the social and economic life of our great City.

On this auspicious occasion, the opportunity is afforded me to thank my fellow members of Council, employees of the Corporation, burgesses, friends and well wishers for their kind thoughts and expressions meted out to me on my recent appointment as Mayor.

It is my fervent hope that we will continue to strive to contribute to that evolving greatness of our City with selflessness and service riding side by side.

May we gather strength as we go along, secure in the determination that while the solid foundation established by our predecessors on June 26th, 1914 may sometimes be shaken, they will never be shattered.

MURCHISON BROWN
MAYOR
